Dry Poultry Litter
Litter Life helps to keep Litter Beds Dry. It is well understood that a poultry house is effectively a long flat compost pile. Breaking down poultry manure into a good compost that can be used for agriculture is part of what every modern poultry farmer does. This is what processes like windrowing are aimed at achieving: a rich well broken down product that will enhance plant growth and be beneficial to the environment. Litter Life enhances the composting process, accelerating decomposition and in the process it wrings out the excess moisture.
Composting organisms require four equally important things to work effectively:
- Carbon — for energy; it is microbes oxidizing carbon produces heat in composting.
- Nitrogen — to grow and reproduce more organisms to oxidize the carbon.
- Oxygen — for oxidizing the carbon, the decomposition process.
- Water — The microbes need enough to live
Applying Litter Life as directed will provide large amounts of beneficial bacteria along with carbon. Using Litter Life will greatly increase the rate of decomposition and will accelerate the conversion of ammonia into ammonium nitrate. In that process much water will be released as vapor, leaving a dryer, healthier environment for your poultry. It will also greatly aid in breaking down or composting your litter, making it a more valuable product for agricultural use later.
